Paul says, “…how dare you take each other to court…does it make any sense to go before a court that knows NOTHING OF GOD’S WAYS instead of a family of Christians? Don’t you realize that this is NOT THE WAY TO LIVE? Unjust people who don’t care about God WILL NOT BE joining in His kingdom. Those who use and abuse each other, use and abuse sex, use and abuse the earth and everything in it, DON’T QUALIFY as citizens in God’s kingdom.” (1 Corinthians 6:1, 9-10)
Then Paul lovingly says, “Some of you used to do those things. But YOUR SINS WERE WASHED AWAY. You were MADE HOLY. You were made RIGHT WITH GOD. All of that was done in the NAME OF the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” Paul goes on to say, “I can do anything I want to if Christ has not said NO, but some of these things AREN’T GOOD FOR ME. Even if I am allowed to do them, I’ll refuse to if I think they might get SUCH A GRIP ON ME that I CAN’T EASILY STOP when I want to.” (1 Corinthians 6:12)
For example, a diabetic eating to many surgery foods. One with high blood pressure consuming too much salt. We cannot just do anything we want, “…do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit WITHIN YOU, whom you have from God, and that YOU ARE NOT YOUR OWN? For you have been bought for a price: therefore, GLORIFY GOD IN YOUR BODY and in your spirit, WHICH ARE GOD’s.” (1 Corinthians 6:19-20)
