“Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because YOU SAW THE SIGNS (sēmeion: an unusual miraculous occurrence, transcending the common course of nature) but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. Do not labor for the food WHICH PERISHES, but for the food which ENDURES TO EVERLASTING LIFE, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set HIS SEAL (sphragizō: to confirm or verify) ON JESUS.” (John 6:26-27)
When the miraculous things that Jesus did occurred, they were God’s way of confirming that JESUS WAS NOT JUST A MAN but a SUPERNATURAL DIVINE ETERNAL BEING. So, when these multitudes came to get another free meal Jesus explained that this meal is temporary it will only satisfy you for a few hours. So, He says, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I GO TO PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I WILL COME AGAIN AND RECEIVE (paralambanō: to take with) YOU TO MYSELF; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I AM the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE. No one comes to the Father EXCEPT THROUGH ME.” (John 14:1-6)
Just how will we go to the Father, “…the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will RISE FIRST. Then we who are alive and remain shall be CAUGHT UP (harpazō: to snatch away) together with them in the clouds to MEET THE LORD IN THE AIR. And thus, we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore COMFORT ONE ANOTHER WITH THESE WORDS.” (1 Thess. 4:16-18) Paul says, “What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever. But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but WE WILL ALL BE TRANSFORMED! It will happen in a MOMENT (atomos: indivisible amount of time, instantly), in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised TO LIVE FOREVER. And we who are living will also be transformed. For our dying bodies must be TRANSFORMED INTO BODIES THAT WILL NEVER DIE…” (1 Corin. 15:50-53)
