“So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift TO HEAR, slow TO SPEAK, slow TO WRATH; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God. Therefore, LAY ASIDE all FILTHINESS and overflow of WICKEDNESS, and receive with meekness the IMPLANTED WORD, which is able to save your souls. But be DOERS of the word, and NOT HEARERS ONLY, DECEIVING YOURSELVES.” (James 1:19-22)
Being swift listener is to be READY, CAREFUL, and THOUGHTFUL at listening to God’s Word. It is more profitable to hear God immediately and PAY CAREFUL ATTENTION TO HIS WORDS than rushing to speak before you hear Him. Hearing God continually with understanding MUST ALWAYS precede speaking out before you know God’s will. This is what is said about God creating us, “How you made me is amazing and wonderful. I praise you for that. What you have done (for me) IS WONDERFUL. I know that very well. None of my bones was hidden from you when you made me inside my mother’s body. That place was as dark as the deepest parts of the earth. When you were putting me together there, your eyes saw my body EVEN BEFORE IT WAS FORMED. You planned how many days I would live. You wrote down the number of them IN YOUR BOOK before I had lived through even one of them.” (Psalms 139:14-16)
God has a perfect plan for each of us, that’s why it is so important for us to REPENT, LISTEN to God and ASK Him, “And whatever you ask in My name, THAT I WILL DO, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I WILL DO IT.” (John 14:13-14)
