“…Solomon appointed the divisions of the priests…the Levites to praise and serve before the priests, AS THE DUTY OF EACH DAY REQUIRED…” (2 Chron. 8:14) God had blessed Solomon with divine wisdom and understanding, as a result God said to Solomon, “…behold, I have given you a wise and understanding heart, so that there has not been anyone like you before you, NOR SHALL ANY LIKE YOU ARISE AFTER YOU.” (1 Kings 3:12)
Because of Solomon’s blessing, becoming the wisest man in all history, the Lord trusted Solomon to establish the required worship and praise services. Solomon knew that THE DEVIL NEVER RESTS FROM TEMPTING US so, Solomon ENFORCED THE DAILY PRAISE AND WORSHIP OF GOD.
This is what we should do on a daily basis:
- Read our Bible. We must not be content to skim through a chapter merely to satisfy our conscience. Hide the Word of God in our heart. It comforts, guides, corrects, encourages, and it is the power of God – all we need is there.
- Communicate with the Father. Prayer is communicating. Every prayer that we pray will be answered. Sometimes that answer may be “Yes” and sometimes “No,” and sometimes it is “Wait,” but nevertheless it will be answered.
- Rely constantly on the Holy Spirit. We know that the Holy Spirit prays for us (Romans 8:26), and what a comfort that should be to the weakest of us.
- Attend church regularly. The church is The Body of Christ, Christ’s organization upon earth. Christians need one another, we need to gather together to worship God and pray for one another. Nothing can take the place of church attendance.
- Be a witnessing Christian. We witness in two ways: by life and by word – and both, where possible.
WE MUST TRUST JESUS TO SHOW US WHICH WAY TO GO.
