“…King Hezekiah rose early, gathered the rulers of the city, and went up to the house of the LORD...all the assembly WORSHIPED, the singers SANG, and the trumpeters SOUNDED; And when they had finished offering, the king and all who were present with him BOWED AND WORSHIPED.” (2 Chron. 29:20, 28-29)
Tragically, the condition of both the Levites and the temple was so bad that they seemed INCAPABLE OF IMPROVING THEMSELVES without this push from King Hezekiah. in the days of Ahaz the altar was moved and its replacement was directed to the east, in the manner of pagan altars instead of toward the west as God commanded. The idea was to turn their backs on God, the temple and the ark (the presence) of God, so to stand before this false altar. “Then Hezekiah and all the people REJOICED THAT GOD HAD PREPARED (equipped) THE PEOPLE…” (2 Chron. 29:36)
“Do you not know that YOU ARE THE TEMPLE OF GOD and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” (1 Corin. 3:16) We may need to do some CLEANING UP and SWEEPING OUT of our the temples, that we are so,
WE CAN WORSHIP AND SING AND BOW DOWN BEFORE OUR ALMIGHTY GOD…
