“My soul longs, yes, faints for the courts of the LORD; my heart and flesh SING FOR JOY to the living God.”(Psa. 84:2)
God is all and every good thing. He is self-sufficient, self-existent, and of course, all-sufficient. God is our portion, we find in Him whatsoever our heart desires, and He does tend to our happiness. Are we ambitious? He is a crown of glory. Are we covetous? He is our unsearchable riches and righteousness. Do we desire pleasure? He is rivers of pleasures and fullness of joy. Are we hungry? He is a feast of wine on the lees and the fat things full of marrow. Are we weary? He is our rest, a shadow from the heat, and a shelter from the storm. Are we weak? He is our everlasting strength. Are we doubting? He is very marvelous in counsel. Are we in darkness? He is the Sun of righteousness. Are we sick? He is the God of our health and healing. Are we sorrowful? He is the God of all consolations. OK then, tomorrow we are going to celebrate the resurrection from horrible punishment and tortuous death, of our Lord Jesus Christ who made this promise to us:
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I AM GOING THERE TO PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU? And if I go and prepare a place for you…
I WILL COME BACK and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” (John 14:1-3)
