- Let us be known by our love
A NEW COMMANDMENT I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. BY THIS ALL PEOPLE WILL KNOW THAT YOU ARE MY DISCIPLES, IF you have love for one another.” (John 13:34-35) God is love, doesn’t it make sense that we should have this quality in our lives? Not only that but, “…just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, ARE ONE BODY—For the body does not consist of one member but of many…NOW YOU ARE THE BODY OF CHRIST AND INDIVIDUALLY MEMBERS OF IT.” (1 Corin. 12:12-14, 27)
The people of Corinth were having problems fighting with one another, Paul said to them, “Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers and sisters.” (1 Corin. 6:6-8). It is because of our selfishness that the Lord had to command us to love one another!
“Strive for peace with everyone, and for holiness without which no one will see the Lord.” (Heb. 12:14)
