BEING SMALL AND INSIGNIFICANT, AMY…

A dispute arose among the disciples of Jesus as to which of them would be the greatest. “…Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a little child and set him by Him, and said to them, “Whoever receives this little child in My name RECEIVES ME; and whoever receives Me receives HIM WHO SENT ME. For he who is LEAST (mīkkós: small, insignificant) AMONG YOU all will be great.” (Luke 9:46-48)

Why do you suppose Jesus is saying that the small and insignificant will be the greatest AMY? I believe it is because of what the scriptures says about us, What causes fights and quarrels among you? You desire but do not haveYou covet but you cannot get what you wantYou do not have because you DO NOT ASK GOD. When you ask, you do not receive, because YOU ASK WITH WRONG MOTIVES…” (Jam. 4:1-4)

Here is what God wants us to consider, The spirit that God caused to live in us wants us to belong ONLY TO GOD.(James 4:5) This is said because we have a tendency to be selfish, God gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists (antitassomai: to range in battle against) the proud, but GIVES GRACE to the humble.” (James 4:6) This is what we must do, “…submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you…Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and HE WILL LIFT YOU UP.(James 4:7-10)
