“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, SO WILL THE WORDS THAT COME OUT OF MY MOUTH not come back empty-handed. They’ll DO THE WORK I sent them to do, they’ll COMPLETE THE ASSIGNMENT I gave them.” (Isaiah 55:10-11)
A man once invited some very influential and important guests to his home for dinner two nights in a row. He told them he was going to provide them with the BEST possible meal on the first night and the WORST possible meal on the second night.
When his special guests arrived, the servants set before them an elaborate meal of SMOTHERED BEEF TONGUE. The guests asked why this would be considered the best possible meal.
The man replied, “The tongue is what we use to bless people, communicate happiness, dispel sorrow, and remove despair. We also use it to help the fainthearted, inspire the discouraged, and uplift all mankind. THE BEEF TONGUE IS THE VERY BEST POSSIBLE MEAL.”
The next evening the guests eagerly returned to the man’s home for dinner, this time expecting the worst possible meal. Yet once again the servants brought out SMOTHERED BEEF TONGUE. The guests were curious why the same entrée was served twice, and they asked how it could be so.
The man replied, “With the tongue we break hearts, bring curses, scar reputations, ruin relationships, promote discord, induce strife, and set wars in motion. THE BEEF TONGUE IS THE VERY WORST POSSIBLE MEAL.” A receipt for beef tongue, https://www.yummly.com/recipe/BEEF—Smoked-Tongue-2221462
“WORDS ARE POWERFUL; take them seriously. WORDS can be your SALVATION. WORDS can also be your DAMNATION.” (Matthew 12:36-37 MSG) “DEATH AND LIFE ARE IN THE POWER OF THE TONGUE, and those who love to talk will reap the consequences.” (Proverbs 18:21)
And in closing, “Joy is found in giving the right answer. And how good is a word SPOKEN AT THE RIGHT TIME!” (Proverbs 15:23)
