“…the LORD sent you out with this command: ‘Go up and take over the land I have given you.’ But YOU REBELLED against the command of the LORD your God and REFUSED TO PUT YOUR TRUST IN HIM or OBEY HIM. Yes, you have been rebelling against the LORD as long as I have known you. “That is why I THREW MYSELF DOWN before the LORD FOR FORTY DAYS AND NIGHTS—for the LORD said He would destroy you. I prayed to the LORD and said, ‘O Sovereign LORD, DO NOT DESTROY THEM. They are your own people. They are YOUR SPECIAL POSSESSION, whom you redeemed from Egypt by your mighty power and your strong hand. Please overlook the stubbornness and the awful sin of these people, and remember instead your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.” (Deut. 9:23-27)
God wanted to give Moses a new people who would trust and obey but Moses interceded for Israel with 40 days of prayer and fasting. Showing us that we can EARNESTLY PRAY FOR OUR LOST LOVED ONES and see successful results from our prayers. “…pray for one another, that you may be healed. “The effective, FERVENT (energeō: passionate, heartfelt and heated, persistent) prayer of a righteous man AVAILS MUCH. (ischuō: makes tremendous power available)” (James 5:16)
“He who dwells in the shelter (he who lives in God’s protected area) of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, My God, IN WHOM I TRUST!” (Psalms 91:1-2)
