[I was very privileged to be the Chaplain for the Cleveland High Blue Raiders football team for 15 years. We would meet each Thursday for devotion and a snack, and then I would spend Friday nights on the sidelines for prayer when needed.]
“For WE ARE GOD’S HANDIWORK, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Eph. 2:10)
[One of many healings the Lord blessed us with happened in a game with East Ridge High School; one of our starters dislocated his left shoulder and was told by the doctor to sit out the game and go to the hospital after the game. I was standing by praying while they worked on him and when they were done I asked him if he wanted the Lord to heal him, we had discussed healing in that Thursday’s devotion so I laid hands on him and prayed. My nephew happened to be in the stands watching the game and told me that when I walked to sidelines he began to move and rotate his shoulder (he could not lift his arm moments earlier), he then pounded on his shoulder making sure it was ok, put his pads back on and ran up to the coach. I could not hear him but he was rotating his arm and pounding on his shoulder to show that he was ok. This was an important game and he wanted back in because he was healed. He did well and we won the game!]
“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and BY HIS WOUNDS WE ARE HEALED.” (Isaiah 53:5)
[This is all about what God did, it is not about me. I was just blessed to be there to witness the miracle!!!]
“…it is GOD WHO WORKS IN YOU to will and to act in order TO FULFILL HIS GOOD PURPOSE.” (Phil. 2:13) [We just need to obey God and do as He inspires us to do all for His glory!!!] “GOD IS FAITHFUL, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.” (I Corin. 1:9)
