“Concerning the Gentiles, God says in the prophecy of Hosea, “Those who were not my people, I will now call my people. And I will love those whom I did not love before.” And “Then, at the place where they were told, ‘You are not my people,’ there they will be called ‘children of the living God.’” And concerning Israel, Isaiah the prophet cried out, “Though the people of Israel are as numerous as the sand of the seashore, ONLY A REMNANT (kataleimma: leftover, remainder) WILL BE SAVED.” (Romans 9:25-27) In the Bible remnant refers to the relatively small group of Jews who have believed and will believe in the future in JESUS AS THEIR MESSIAH AND ARE BORN AGAIN. “Awake, sword, against my shepherd, “Strike the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn my hand against the little ones. In the whole land,” declares the LORD, “TWO–THIRDS will be STRUCK DOWN and perish; yet ONE–THIRD WILL BE LEFT…” (Zechariah 13:7-8)
“It will come about in all the land, declares the Lord, that TWO PARTS IN IT will be cut off and perish; but THE THIRD WILL BE LEFT in it. And I will bring the third part through the fire, refine them as silver is refined, and test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, and I will answer them; I will say, ‘THEY ARE MY PEOPLE,’ and they will say, ‘THE LORD IS MY GOD.’” (Zech 13:8,9). “But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” (Matthew 24:13). “And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but FOR THE ELECT’S (1/3 of Israel) SAKE those days shall be shortened.“ (Matthew 24:22).
“When the dragon (Satan) saw that he had been hurled to the earth, he pursued the woman (Israel) who had given birth to the male child (Jesus). The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle, so that she might fly to the place (prepared for her in the wilderness), where she would be taken care of for A TIME, TIMES AND HALF A TIME (the last 3 1\2 years), out of the serpent’s reach. Then from his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river, to overtake the woman and sweep her away with the torrent. But the earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth. Then the dragon was enraged at the woman and went off to wage war against THE REST OF HER OFFSPRING (the remaining 1\3)—those who keep God’s commands and HOLD FAST their testimony about Jesus.” (Revelation 12:13-17)
