WILL, phobias are irrational fears that relate to specific situations. Atychiphobia, means having an irrational and persistent fear of failing. The devil provides this as part of his plan to disable us, as Jesus said, “The thief does not come except to steal, kill, and destroy. (John 10:10a) You see WILL, the devil want’s to steal your confidence in succeeding, kill your trust in the Lord and destroy your relationship with God. Here is the awesome and wonderful promise Jesus gives us, “…I have come that YOU MAY HAVE 1LIFE, and that YOU may have it more 2ABUNDANTLY.” (John 10:10b) I may have said this before but the word “life” used here is “1zōē” which is the absolute fulness of life which belongs to God. 2perissos: over and above, more than is necessary, SUPERIOR, extraordinary.
The Greek bible uses three words for life,
- bios: life of the physical body, biology comes from this word.
- psuchē: the psychological life of the human soul, psychology comes from this word:
- zōē: eternal life of God, when we are “Born Again”
Sorry for all this explanation WILL, but you are a graduate from “The University of Alabama” and I figure you can easily understand this…
When we face challenges in life, they can either paralyze us with fear, or motivate us to SEEK GOD and see Him MIRACULOUSLY WORK IN YOUR LIFE. “Call to Me WILL, and I WILL ANSWER YOU, and show YOU great and mighty things, which YOU do not know.” (Jeremiah 33:3)
King David was arguably one of the greatest men of God to ever walk this earth. What we can easily forget is how many challenges King David faced before becoming King, and during his reign as king.
- Saul, the king prior to David, envied David, and tried to kill him numerous times (1 Samuel 19:10-11).
- David faced war with other countries over and over again, such as with the Philistines (2 Samuel 21:15).
- His own son Abasolom tried to overthrow him, and become king in his place. This son was eventually killed by another soldier. (2 Samuel 13-18).
- Some of his own people, the Israelites, did not want David to be king, so they tried to overthrow him. (2 Samuel 2:20).
One thing King David did over and over again when challenges arose, was SEEK GOD IN PRAYER. Whenever a challenge arose, David would ask God what he should do – and when God gave him an answer, he listened and followed what the Lord said to do. “And David inquired of the Lord…” (2 Samuel 5:19)
When David sought the Lord and LISTENED TO HIM (by acting on what God said to do), he had victory and success, and saw provision and breakthrough.
May your challenges not overwhelm you WILL, but may you see them as an opportunity to see God WORK IN YOUR LIFE. No matter what the provision or breakthrough looks like – this side of eternity – you will grow CLOSER TO HIM through it all. “And David had success in all his undertakings, for the LORD WAS WITH HIM. (just as He will be with you WILL…)” (1 Samuel 18:14)
