“Some men came carrying a paralyzed man tried to take him to Jesus…they went up on the roof and lowered him, right in front of Jesus. When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.” The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began THINKING to themselves, “Who is this who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God?” Jesus KNEW what they were thinking and asked, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts? Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or, ‘Get up and walk’? But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said, “I tell you, get up, TAKE YOUR MAT and go home.” Immediately he stood up, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were FILLED WITH AWE (phobos: fear, dread) and said, “We have seen remarkable (paradoxos: unexpected, strange, wonderful, astonishing) things today.” (Luke 5:18-26)
This man was paralyzed and with just a word from Jesus JUSTIN, he was instantly and completely healed, he was physically changed. His useless body straightened out, muscles formed and he rose up and walked – right before their eyes!!!
What does Jesus say about this? “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who BELIEVES in Me, the works that I do HE WILL DO ALSO; and GREATER WORKS than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I WILL DO, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in My name, I WILL DO IT.” (John 14:12-14)
