“The words of the LORD are 1PURE WORDS; As silver tried in a furnace on the earth, refined seven times… Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding. For wisdom is more profitable than silver, and wisdom’s wages are better than gold. Wisdom is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with wisdom.” (Psa. 12:6) (Pro. 3:13-15)
1taw-hare’: to be bright; to be spotless. We see that God’s word enlightens us, fills us with joy, wisdom and understanding. It is more valuable to us than any fine jewelry, there is nothing that can be compared to the awesome value of God’s word, why is this? You would expect a book that is divine and living would in fact be full of life, and so it is. Paul writes: “…we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, THE WORD OF GOD, which also PERFORMS ITS WORK IN YOU WHO BELIEVE.” (1 Thess. 2:13). Jeremiah writes: “Is not my word like fire,” declares the LORD, “and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?” (Jer. 23:29). God’s word is the most powerful tool we have available to us, it is the source God’s energy, which, of course, assures our spiritual welfare!
