Jesus said, “As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were EATING and DRINKING, MARRYING and GIVING IN MARRIAGE, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and THEY KNEW NOTHING about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.” (Matt. 24:37-39)
These people were willingly ignorant, how do I know that? Because God, “…did not spare the ancient world when He brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, A PREACHER OF RIGHTEOUSNESS…” (2 Pet. 2:5) Noah had spent years warning his friends and neighbors what the Holy God was about to do. No one listened. It’s no different today!
Remember what Jesus said, “…YOU ALSO MUST BE READY, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when YOU DO NOT EXPECT HIM.” (Matt. 24:44) Jesus is teaching his disciples about His coming, which is based on Israel becoming a nation again (happened on May 14th 1948) He says about those who see this, “Truly I tell you, THIS GENERATION will certainly NOT PASS AWAY until ALL THESE THINGS have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words WILL NEVER PASS AWAY.” (Matt. 24:34-35) On May 14, 1948, David Ben-Gurion, the head of the Jewish Agency, proclaimed the establishment of the State of Israel. U.S. President Harry S. Truman recognized the new nation ON THE SAME DAY. This was the fulfilment of Matthew 24:34, it happened 74 years ago IN May. According to the Psalms, Moses wrote, Psalm 90:10 “Our days may come to SEVENTY years, or EIGHTY, if our strength endures…” We are at 73 years now, Jesus said until all these thing have happened, which includes the seven year tribulation, that will be going on while WE ARE at the Marriage supper of the Lamb!!!
