ARE WE ACTUALLY LISTENING?

“Anyone with ears to hear MUST LISTEN to the Spirit and understand what He is saying…” (Rev. 3:6) The devil has lied to us and convinced most Christians that the Lord no longer SPEAKS TO US, that what we need to know, we can learn from the scriptures. Well, how is that working? A survey from 2021 found that 11% of Americans read the Bible daily. Trends in reading habits over four years showed that the majority of Americans NEVER read the Bible. (Statista, a leading provider of consumer data.) GOD had something to say about this, “And THESE WORDS (the Word of God) which I COMMAND YOU TODAY shall be in your heart. You shall TEACH them diligently TO YOUR CHILDREN, and shall TALK of them when you SIT in your house, when you WALK by the way, when you LIE DOWN, and when you RISE UP. You shall WRITE THEM on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. (Deut. 6:6-9) This is NOT advice from the Lord it’s a command!

Here is the way that it is; the one who is known as the “Way, the Truth and the Life” Jesus, tells us, My sheep HEAR My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.(John 10:27) Then He says about His sheep, “…the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep HEAR His voice; and He calls His own sheep by name and leads them out. And when He brings out His own sheep, He goes before them; and the sheep follow Him, for THEY KNOW HIS VOICE. (John 10:3-4)

I think the following verses describes our condition today, God chose Moses to talk to Pharaoh about releasing God’s people from the Egyptian bondage and Moses turned God down and finally gave in if God would send Aaron to speak for him. When God finally got  through to Pharaoh and Israel was released, they complained all along the way, Moses got angry with the Israelites and he did not really know much about God, so he asked God if he could see Him. Then the LORD came down in the cloud and stood there with Moses and proclaimed His name, the LORD. And He passed in front of Moses, proclaiming, “The LORD, the LORD, the COMPASSIONATE and GRACIOUS God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness, maintaining love to thousands, and forgiving wickedness, rebellion and sin…” (Exo. 34:5-7)

When Moses really saw who God was FOR THE FIRST TIME, Moses bowed to the ground at once and WORSHIPED.(Exo. 34:8) THIS IS WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO US IF WE JUST ASK GOD TO REVEAL HIMSELF TO US AND WE LISTEN TO HIM
