“…it is APPOINTED for men to die once, but after this the judgment…” (Heb. 9:27)
- IT IS APPOINTED… Every one of us has an appointment, these bodies we occupy are temporary, we need ETERNAL BODIES to live forever. Where we spend eternity is up to us. If we repent of our sins and invite Jesus into our lives, we will spend eternity, in heaven, with Him. Otherwise it’s eternity in “The Lake of Fires“
- FOR MEN… “men” here stands for all humankind —man, whether male or female.
- TO DIE ONCE… “Once” brings home the fact that we don’t get a second chance at life. There is no reincarnation.
- AFTER THIS… We have our fourth fact, that death is not the end. There is something after death. This is why Christians speak of death as a “sleep” because it is a temporary state.
- THE JUDGMENT… Death is our destiny’s door. There is no second chance after death. “I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the BOOK OF LIFE. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hell delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, EACH ONE ACCORDING TO HIS WORKS. Then Death and Hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone NOT FOUND WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE was CAST INTO the lake of fire.” (Rev. 20:11-15)
