AN AMBASSADOR FOR CHRIST…

HOW TO BE AN AMBASSADOR…

First, we need to get ourselves ready…

“The LORD is our God, the LORD is one (אֶחָד: a single entity but made up of more than one part Father, Son, Holy Spirit.) “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. (Deut. 6:4-5)

“And these words which I command you today shall BE IN YOUR HEART. You shall TEACH THEM DILIGENTLY (שָׁנַן: to whet, or sharpen, a term used in sharping or preparing a knife for use, we “sharpen” our children with God’s Word) TO YOUR CHILDREN, and shall TALK OF THEM when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. (Deut. 6:6-9) The concept here is to prepare our children in the Word of God so God can use them to Go and make disciples, TEACHING THEM TO OBSERVE ALL THINGS that I have commanded you.” Amen. (Matt. 28:19-20)

Then, we can help others…

So, our children need to learn “all things” so they can teach others “all things” because Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and He will reward them for what they have done. (Pro. 19:17) Paul instructs us, Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, THINKING OF OTHERS AS BETTER THAN YOURSELVES. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take AN INTEREST IN OTHERS, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.(Phil. 2:3-5)

Here are some ideas to help those in need,

  1. Pray as a family for those in need.
  2. If a local business is collecting funds for a charity, give the kids some money to drop in the collection jar.
  3. Along with your kids or grandkids, serve in a soup kitchen.
  4. Go with them to clean an elderly person’s home.
  5. Encourage the kids to cut a senior citizen’s lawn.
  6. Visit a nursing home together.
  7. Sort clothes together at a clothing closet for needy families.
  8. Prepare a meal together for someone who is not well.

Now then, we are AMBASSADORS FOR CHRIST, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin TO BE SIN FOR US, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Corin. 5:20-21)
