AMY, IT’S IN GOD WE TRUST…

A rather wealthy man saw a penny and stopped to pick it up a friend with his wanted to know why so, the wealthy man gave him the penny and said “read this.” The friend took the penny and read IN GOD WE TRUST “And if I trust in God, the name of God is holy, even on a coin. Whenever I find a coin I see that inscription. It is written on every single United States coin, but we NEVER SEEM TO NOTICE IT! God DROPS A MESSAGE right in front of us telling us to trust Him? Who are we to pass it by? When we see a coin, we should pray, We should  stop to see if our trust IS in God at that moment. Pick up the coin as a response to God; that you do trust in Him. For a short time, at least, cherish it as if it were gold. Think it is God’s way of starting a conversation with you. Lucky for us, GOD IS PATIENT and pennies are plentiful! Never tire of loyalty and kindness. Hold these virtues tightly. Write them deep within your heart. If you want favor with both God and man, and a reputation for good judgment and common sense, then TRUST THE LORD COMPLETELY (IN GOD WE TRUST); don’t ever trust yourself. In everything you do, PUT GOD FIRST, and He will direct you and honor your efforts with success.(Proverbs 3:3-6)(The Living Bible)

The motto IN GOD WE TRUST was placed on United States coins largely because of the increased religious sentiment existing during the Civil War. “IN GOD WE TRUST” first appeared on the two-cent piece in 1864. Solomon wrote the words of Proverbs 3 about 2720 years ago (700BC).
