JUSTIN, Jesus said, “…no one puts NEW WINE into old wineskins; or else the new wine bursts the wineskins, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But new wine must be put into NEW WINESKINS.” (Mark 2:22) In Jesus’s day, people used animal skins—like goatskin—for storing liquids. Fermented drinks like wine expanded, and since an old wineskin would already be stretched to its limit, the new wine would tear the seams. “…you have not so learned Christ, in Jesus: you PUT OFF, THE OLD man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you PUT ON THE NEW man which was created according to God, in TRUE RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HOLINESS.” (Eph. 4:20-24)
Our old man cared about the desires of the flesh and ways to bring unholy pleasure and ungodly satisfaction which corrupted the old man JUSTIN, which is why we must PUT HIM OFF. Something very miraculous happens when we put on the new man and enter into a new relationship with the Lord, He wants us to become SO CLOSE TO HIM that we are entwined or entangled with Him The Hebrew word is qāvâ: to bind or be twisted together. “…those who WAIT (qāvâ) on the LORD Shall RENEW their strength; They shall MOUNT UP with wings like eagles, They shall RUN and not be weary, They shall WALK and not faint.” (Isa. 40:31)
