“I sought the LORD, and He HEARD me, And delivered me from all my fears. They 1LOOKED to Him and were 2RADIANT, And their faces were not ashamed.” (Psa. 34:4-5) 1nâbaṭ: pay attention to God. 2nâhar: to shine, glow. These people being spoken about here paid very close attention to what God was saying WILL, the same thing that happened to Moses happened to them.
“Now it was so, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai…Moses did not know that THE SKIN OF HIS FACE SHONE while he talked with Him. So when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone, and they were AFRAID TO COME NEAR HIM.” (Exod. 34:29-30) Why would they be afraid of the presence of the Lord, God’s presence is holy and if we have any unholiness in us it will bring fear to see God’s holiness!!! “Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and REST YOUR HOPE FULLY UPON THE GRACE that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance; but as He who called you is holy, you also BE HOLY IN ALL YOUR CONDUCT (behavior), because it is written, “BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.” (1 Pet. 1:13-16)
