In Matthew 7:9-10 Jesus says, “…what man is there among you who, if his son asks for BREAD, will give him a STONE? Or if he asks for a FISH, will he give him a SERPENT?”
This is a stone that looks like a loaf of bread.
A Kuhli-Loach fish, looks like a serpent.
The son might mistakenly take something bad that he thinks is something good, but the Father ALWAYS KNOWS THE DIFFERENCE. If you then, BEING EVIL, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more WILL YOUR FATHER who is in heaven GIVE GOOD THINGS TO THOSE WHO ASK HIM!” (Matt. 7:7-11)
What does He mean “If you being evil?” Well, we were born into sin and until we were born again we lived sinful (evil compared to God) lives. But now, thank God, we a new creation in God… “…if anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW CREATION; old things have passed away; behold, ALL THINGS HAVE BECOME NEW. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ…” (2 Corin. 5:17-18)
