David built houses in the City of David; and he prepared a place for the ark of God. “…they brought the ark of God and set it in the midst of the tabernacle that David had erected for it…On that day David first delivered this psalm into the hand of Asaph and his brethren, to thank the LORD: “’OH, GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD! Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples! Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him; Talk of all His wondrous works! Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the LORD! SEEK THE LORD AND HIS STRENGTH; SEEK HIS FACE EVERMORE!’” (1 Chron. 16:1, 7-11) God wants us to give thanks for WHO HE IS, not just for what He does. “…IN EVERYTHING give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (1 Thess. 5:18) “…speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord, GIVING THANKS ALWAYS FOR ALL THINGS to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ…” (Eph. 5:19-20)
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but BE TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND, THAT YOU MAY PROVE what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Rom. 12:1-2)
