Oh, I want to see Him, look upon His face,
There to sing FOREVER of His saving grace;
On the streets of glory let me LIFT MY VOICE,
Cares ALL PAST, home AT LAST, ever to rejoice.
Jesus, His disciples and a great multitude were on their way to Jericho, “…blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “SON OF DAVID, HAVE MERCY ON ME!” So, Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called…they called the blind man, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.” And THROWING ASIDE HIS GARMENT, he rose and came to Jesus. So, Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me TO DO FOR YOU?” (Jesus tells us to “ask”, to speak our need to him) The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And IMMEDIATELY HE RECEIVED HIS SIGHT and FOLLOWED JESUS on the road.” (Mark 10:46-52)
“…throwing aside his garment” when Jesus calls us, He asks us to “throw off” our old lives and anything that might keep us from serving Him wholeheartedly, so that we’re unrestrained by our former lives. “A huge cloud of witnesses is all around us. So let us THROW OFF everything that stands in our way. Let us THROW OFF any sin that holds on to us so tightly. Let us keep on running the race marked out for us.” (Hebrews 12:1 NIrV)
“Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.” (1 John 3:2)
