“In the beginning GOD CREATED the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then GOD SAID, “LET THERE BE LIGHT“; and THERE WAS LIGHT. And God saw the light, that IT WAS GOOD; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light DAY, and the darkness He called NIGHT. So, the evening and the morning were the first day.” (Genesis 1:1-6)
THERE ARE TWO IMPORTANT POINTS HERE.
- GOD CREATED: When the term “GOD” is used, it could refer to God the Father, God the Son, or God the Holy Spirit. There are some who do not believe in the trinity regardless of what the scriptures say. “When Jesus had been baptized, JESUS (God the Son) CAME UP IMMEDIATELY from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the SPIRIT OF GOD (God the Holy Spirit) DESCENDING like a dove and alighting upon Him. And suddenly a voice came from heaven (God the Father), saying, “THIS IS MY BELOVED SON, in whom I am well pleased.“ (Matthew 3:16-17) Another verse (removed from most modern translations but found in the Textus Receptus, the original writings of the Apostles were ordered destroyed by Emperor Diocletian) “For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these THREE ARE ONE.” (1 John 5:7)
- GOD SAID: When God spoke what came out of His mouth? THE WORD! And who is the WORD OF GOD? “Jesus was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called THE WORD OF GOD.” (Revelation 19:13) “In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with God, and the WORD was God. He was in the beginning with God. And the WORD became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:1-2, 14) “Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For BY HIM ALL THINGS WERE CREATED that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. ALL THINGS WERE CREATED BY HIM and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.” (Colossians 1:15-17)
Just think about this, this eternal omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent divine being has chosen to have us dwell with Him “If anyone loves me, he will KEEP MY WORD, and my Father will love him, and WE WILL COME TO HIM and MAKE OUR HOME WITH HIM.” (John 14:23)
