Our response to God’s Word, “I am Your servant; GIVE ME UNDERSTANDING, That I may KNOW YOUR TESTIMONIES (ʿēḏâ: proof, witness). It is time for You to act, O LORD, for they (the unbelievers) have regarded Your law as void. Therefore, I LOVE YOUR COMMANDMENTS (any words that come from your mouth Lord) More than gold, yes, than fine gold!” (Psalms 119:125-127)
Why? Because, “…the word of God is LIVING (zaō: having life giving quality in itself) and POWERFUL (energēs: mighty, forceful), and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a DISCERNER (kritikos: understanding the difference between things) of the THOUGHTS (thinking about doing something) and INTENTS (intending to do something) of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)
Another good reason to love God’s Word, “All Scripture is GOD–BREATHED (theopneustos: God’s breath) and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be THOROUGHLY EQUIPPED (exartizō: to fully supply) for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
“And now, O LORD GOD, You are God, and YOUR WORDS ARE TRUE, and You have promised Your goodness to Your servant.” (2 Samuel 7:28) “Teacher, we know that You say and teach RIGHTLY, and You do not show personal favoritism, BUT TEACH THE WAY OF GOD IN TRUTH…” (Luke 20:21)
“Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are TRUE AND FAITHFUL.” (Revelation 21:5)
