“…I remind you to STIRUP (anazōpureō: reigniting something that became extinguished) THE GIFT OF GOD WHICH IS IN YOU…For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of POWER and of LOVE and of a SOUND MIND.” (2 Tim. 1:6-7) Our prayers are effective to the degree that WE ACCESS AND YIELD TO, the spiritual power that is available to us. If we seek for and allow more of God’s Spirit to be active in us, our prayers will be greatly energized—and consequently will be more effective. Paul is encouraging us “to kindle afresh” or “keep in full flame.” STIRRING THE GIFT OF GOD or rekindling the divine life we have received from God, provides the believer with THE MOST POWERFUL FORM OF SPIRITUAL ENERGY. By fanning the gift of God into a blaze, we gain strength sufficient TO OVERCOME THE WORLD.
“…BE RENEWED IN THE SPIRIT OF YOUR MIND, and “let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another…do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God…Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And BE KIND TO ONE ANOTHER, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” (Eph. 4:23-32)
SO, LET’S REPENT OF OUR INACTIVENESS TOWARD GOD AND HIS KINGDOM; LET’S REPENT OF NOT KEEPING IN THE SPIRIT OF PRAYER…
