“I KNOW whom I have believed and am PERSUADED that He is able to KEEP what I have COMMITTED TO HIM until that Day.” (2 Timothy 1:12) What is “that day”? It is the “Day of The Lord“
“Therefore, do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, who has SAVED US and CALLED US with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to HIS OWN PURPOSE AND GRACE which was given to us in Christ Jesus BEFORE TIME BEGAN…” (2 Timothy 1:8-9)
Before time began. How can that be? Well, you see it’s like this, God inspired David with this, “YOU (Lord God) made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit them together IN MY MOTHER’S WOMB. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! It is amazing to think about. Your workmanship (in my creation) IS MARVELOUS—and how well I know it. You WERE THERE while I was being formed in utter seclusion! You SAW ME BEFORE I WAS BORN and SCHEDULED EACH DAY OF MY LIFE BEFORE I BEGAN TO BREATHE. Every day was recorded in your book!” (Psalms 139:13-16) This is true for each one of us, God has a purpose for our lives. We need to seek God for that purpose, and WE CAN CHOOSE TO DO what He has purposed for us, or we can do something else and MISS GOD’S PURPOSE FOR OUR LIVES!
God spoke to Saul about his disobedience, “You did a foolish thing,” Samuel (God’s prophet) said. “You HAVEN’T OBEYED the command the LORD your God gave you…now your kingdom won’t last. The LORD has already looked for a man who is DEAR TO HIS HEART (David). He has appointed him leader of His people. That’s because you haven’t obeyed the LORD…“ (1 Samuel 13:13-14)
“I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “I want you to enjoy success…you will CALL OUT TO ME. You will come and pray to me. And I WILL LISTEN TO YOU. When you look for me with all your heart, YOU WILL FIND ME.” (Jeremiah 29:11-13)
