The human brain contains over one hundred billion nerve cells, it produces thousands of thoughts per hour and generates enough electricity to power a light bulb. WHY WOULDN’T GOD WANT US TO USE THIS INCREDIBLE BRAIN He gave us TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IS RIGHT AND WHAT IS WRONG? The serpent in the Garden of Eden posed that same question to Eve when he asked her to rethink God’s command about the forbidden fruit. It’s easy to see in hindsight how Satan used the ploy to UNDERMINE EVE’S TRUST IN GOD, Satan said, “DID GOD REALLY SAY you must not eat the fruit FROM ANY of the trees in the garden?” (Genesis 3:1)
If this happens we must stand upon the fact that, “God took an oath IN HIS OWN NAME, saying to Abraham: “I will certainly bless you, and I will multiply your descendants beyond number…So God has given both His promise and His oath. These two things are unchangeable (ametathetos: cannot be altered) because IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD TO LIE.” (Hebrews 6:13-18) So, we may conclude that since it’s impossible for God to Lie and since, “…the word of God is LIVING (zaō: to have true life) and POWERFUL (energēs: to be energetically operative), and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12) The Word of God is a LIVING ENTITY, it is not like any other book in existence, “ALL SCRIPTURE IS GOD–BREATHED (theopneustos: God’s breath) and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
It may be difficult for our human minds to understand but when we read the bible, God BREATHES HIS WORD IN TO US and His Word brings LIFE AND POWER INTO OUR LIVES, and we are, “TRANSFORMED (metamorphoō: to be divinely changed into a godly form) by the RENEWING OF OUR MIND, that WE MAY PROVE what is that good and acceptable and PERFECT WILL OF GOD.” (Romans 12:2)
God’s just spoke HIS POWERFUL Word and IT WAS SO POWERFUL that the sun, moon, and trillions of stars appeared, “Let lights appear in the sky to separate the day from the night. Let them be signs to mark the seasons, days, and years. Let these lights in the sky SHINE DOWN on the earth.” And that is what happened. God made two great lights—the larger one to govern the day, and the smaller one to govern the night. HE ALSO MADE THE STARS.” (Genesis 1:14-16)
THIS DEMONSTRATES TO US THAT NOTHING IS TOO HARD FOR THE LORD… That is why the Bible says, “…my God will supply all your NEEDS (chreia: necessity) according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)
