“I will praise the LORD. Deep down inside me, I will praise Him. I will praise Him, because His name is holy. I will praise the LORD. I won’t forget anything He does for me. He forgives all my sins. He HEALS ALL my sicknesses (taḥălu’îm: characterized by severe pain, suffering).” (Psalms 103:1-3)
Well, that’s great but what if I’m NOT WORTHY to be healed?
“FOOLS, because of their transgression, And because of their iniquities, WERE AFFLICTED…they drew near to the gates of death. Then they CRIED OUT TO THE LORD in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word AND HEALED THEM and delivered them from their destructions.” (Psalms 107:17-20) When people are asked, Why do you think you are not being healed? The most common answers people give are that they feel unworthy, that their faith is not strong enough, or that God wants to teach them something. It is easy to see how beliefs like these could PREVENT HEALING from flowing. When we get rid of our PERSONAL DOUBT, we get our eyes OFF OURSELVES and ON TO JESUS. HE IS THE HEALER. Healing happens because of WHO HE IS, not who we are not or of what we are not doing.
“Jesus was DESPISED AND REJECTED—a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on Him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was OUR WEAKNESSES He carried; it was OUR SORROWS that weighed Him down. And we thought His troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for His own sins! But He was pierced for OUR rebellion, crushed for OUR sins. He was beaten SO WE COULD BE WHOLE. And by His stripes we ARE HEALED.” (Isaiah 53:3-5)
You see, it’s like this, Jesus came to live on this earth, fully human, so He could suffer rejection, sorrow, and pain-OUR PAIN! Jesus read the scripture in the Synagogue and explained that He was the one COME TO SAVE THEM. “All the people in the synagogue were furious when they heard this. They got up, drove Him out of the town, and took Him to the brow of the hill on which the town was built, in order to THROW HIM OFF THE CLIFF. But He walked right through the crowd and WENT ON HIS WAY.” (Luke 4:28-30)
“Then the governor’s soldiers took Jesus into the Praetorium…They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him, and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on His head. They put a staff in His right hand. Then they knelt in front of Him and mocked Him. “Hail, king of the Jews!” they said. They spit on Him, and took the staff and struck Him on the head again and again. After they had mocked Him, they took off the robe and put His own clothes on him. Then they led Him away TO CRUCIFY HIM…” (Matthew 27:27-32)
All of this happened for you Amanda, a great price was paid for your healing so, claim it, receive it and rejoice in it…
