God’s Word Transforms Us…

Just how secure is God’s Word?Heaven and earth will pass away, but MY WORDS WILL NEVER PASS AWAY.(Mark 13:31) “The law and the prophets were until John. Since that time the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is pressing into it. And IT IS EASIER FOR HEAVEN AND EARTH TO PASS AWAY THAN FOR ONE TITTLE (keraia: the minutest part) of the law (nomos: the Old Testament scriptures in general) to fail.(Luke 16:16-17) God says this about His word, EVERY WORD OF GOD IS PURE (tsâraph: refined, tested); He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. DO NOT ADD to HIS WORDS, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.(Proverbs 30:5-6) You shall not add to the word which I command you, nor take from it, that you may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.(Deuteronomy 4:2) Jesus said, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on EVERY WORD that comes from THE MOUTH OF GOD.'” (Matthew 4:4)

Debates have gone on and are still going on, about the accuracy of God’s Word. “…by Him (Jesus) all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created by Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and IN HIM ALL THINGS CONSIST (synistēmi: are held together)(Colossians 1:16-17) On the 4th day Jesus spoke the sun, moon and all the stars into place. Some of these “stars” were millions of light years away but their light appeared that day! Isn’t this same Jesus able to PRESERVE HIS WORD FOR US TODAY!

“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed (the same as) to this world but be transformed (metamorphoō: to be supernaturally changed into another form) by the renewing (anakainōsis: the completing the process) of your mind, that you may prove (our new lives become proof of the change in us) what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:1-2)

We are not really able to understand how extremely powerful God’s Word is, “…the word of God is alive (zaō: having vital power in itself) and powerful (energēs: powerfully bringing something from one stage to the next). It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting (merismos: a parting separation) between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.” (Hebrews 4:12)

All Scripture is Godbreathed (theopneustos: God’s breath) and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the SERVANT OF GOD MAY BE THOROUGHLY EQUIPPED for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16-17) It is God’s will for the scripture to transform us into a thoroughly equipped minister of the gospel. You know how God “formed a man from the dust of the ground and BREATHED into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” (Genesis 2:7) In the same way God BREATHES His living and powerful word into us, He is breathing His life into us so we are transformed by the Word of God…
