OK, WHAT IS TRUTH?

A survey of the American public revealed that sixty-six percent agreed with the statement, “There is no such thing as absolute truth. So, what is absolute truth? ABSOLUTE TRUTH is whatever is ALWAYS VALID, REGARDLESS OF PARAMETERS OR CONTEXT. The absolute in the term represents one or more of: a quality of truth that cannot be exceeded; complete truth; unvarying and permanent truth. EVERY WORD OF GOD PROVES TRUE (tsâraph: pure); He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him. Don’t add to His words. If you do, He will correct you. He will prove that you are a liar.(Proverbs 30:5-6)

If there is no such thing as absolute truth, then there is nothing ultimately right or wrong about anything. What might be “right” for you does not mean it is “right” for me. While on the surface this type of relativism seems to be appealing, what it means is that everybody sets his own rules to live by and does what he thinks is right. Inevitably, one person’s sense of right will soon clash with another’s. What happens if it is “right” for me to ignore traffic lights, even when they are red? I put many lives at risk.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was GodAnd the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen His glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, FULL OF GRACE AND TRUTH.(John 1:1, 14) Piolet said to Jesus, “What is truth?” (John 18:38) Jesus said, “I am the way, and THE TRUTH, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6) This is about the Holy Spirit, When THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH comes, He will guide you into all the truth, for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak, and He will declare to you the things that are to come.(John 16:13)

We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH and the spirit of error. (1 John 4:6) Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, HAVING FASTENED ON THE BELT OF TRUTH, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. (Ephesians 6:13-15) Jesus said this in John 17:17: “Sanctify them by the truth; YOUR WORD IS TRUTH.” The WORD OF GOD IS TRUTH, and it is through knowing and applying this truth that we are sanctified—daily made holy and righteous.”
