“There was a city judge,” Jesus said, “a very godless man who had great contempt for everyone. A widow of that city came to him frequently to appeal for justice against a man who had harmed her. THE JUDGE IGNORED HER for a while, but eventually she got on his nerves. “‘I fear neither God nor man,’ he said to himself, ‘but this woman bothers me. I’m going to see that SHE GETS JUSTICE, FOR SHE IS WEARING ME OUT with her constant coming!’” Then the Lord said, “If even an evil judge can be worn down like that, don’t you think that God will SURELY GIVE JUSTICE TO HIS PEOPLE WHO PLEAD WITH HIM DAY AND NIGHT?” (Luke 18:2-7)
Some people interpret this scripture, that we only have TO ASK GOD JUST ONCE, “…ASK, and it will be GIVEN to you; SEEK, and you will FIND; KNOCK, and it will be OPENED to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” (Luke 11:9-12) Jesus taught us to plead with him DAY and NIGHT and God would GIVE US JUSTICE.
Jesus goes on to teach about this justice, “If a son asks for bread from a father, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?” (Luke 11:9-12) The smooth STONES in Israel look like loaves of baked BREAD and the son may not know the difference but the father does. NEEDLEFISH are slender, 37 in in length. And there is the REEDFISH that has a long and slender body, reaching up to 15 inches in length. These can be mistaken for sea SERPENTS or snakes. The son may not know the difference, but the father does. When a SCORPION is threatened it curls up and looks like a WILD EGG. Once again, the son may not know the difference, but the father does.
THE FATHER MAKES SURE WE RECEIVE THE REAL THING, SO KEEP ASKING…
