One of the most destructive forces on Earth is wind that forms a tornado. In seconds, a massive spinning column of air can annihilate homes, businesses, and lives. In 1999, an outbreak of 70 tornados devastated the area around Oklahoma City, producing the highest wind gusts ever recorded on the planet. Blowing up to 302 mph and stretching 2.6 miles wide, the twister took 40 lives, injured 675 people, and did $1.2 billion in damage. Nothing could withstand the force of the wind that day. Remember this, NOTHING IS AS POWERFUL as THE HOLY SPIRIT!!!
“The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the SPIRIT OF GOD (Ruach Elohim) was hovering over the face of the waters.” (Genesis 1:2) This is the first mention of the HOLY SPIRIT, WHAT KIND OF POWER DOES THE HOLY SPIRIT HAVE?
Paul was telling the people of Thessalonica about THE DAY OF THE LORD, “Let no one deceive you by any means; for THAT DAY WILL NOT COME unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who OPPOSES AND EXALTS HIMSELF ABOVE all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that HE SITS AS GOD IN THE TEMPLE OF GOD, showing himself that he is God. Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things? And now you know what is restraining, that he may be revealed in his own time. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only HE WHO NOW RESTRAINS (katechō: to hold back, detain) (the Holy Spirit is restraining) WILL DO SO UNTIL HE IS TAKEN OUT OF THE WAY.” (2 Thessalonians 2:3-7)
No matter how anxious the devil is to TAKE OVER AND RULE WITH EVIL, he cannot do it until the HOLY SPIRIT TAKES THE CHURCH UP in the rapture. “And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will CONSUME with the breath of His mouth and DESTROY with the brightness of His coming.” (2 Thessalonians 2:8)
