Oh Lord, “…do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from THE EVIL ONE.” (Matt. 6:13) We know that the evil one is the “…great dragon who was cast out, that serpent of old, called the devil and Satan, who DECEIVES THE WHOLE WORLD; he WAS CAST to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” (Rev. 12:9) OH MY, WHAT CAN WE DO? Of course, that’s what the devil wants us to think but Jesus said this, “Behold, I give you THE AUTHORITY to trample on serpents and scorpions, and OVER ALL THE POWER OF THE ENEMY, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19)
Another powerful verse of our authority over the devil (James 4:7-8),
First, we must:
- SUBMIT TO GOD. Surrender to God by falling on our face before Him.
- RESIST THE DEVIL AND HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU. Stop listening to the devil, he is the father of lies!
- DRAW NEAR TO GOD AND HE WILL DRAW NEAR TO YOU. Develop an intimacy with God and speak intimate words to Him.
“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to STAND AGAINST THE WILES OF THE DEVIL.” (Eph. 6:11) “…the spirit of the Antichrist, is now already in the world. You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because HE WHO IS IN YOU IS GREATER THAN HE WHO IS IN THE WORLD.” (1 John 4:3-4)
One more important thing to remember, the devil, “…was a murderer from the beginning (he had Cain kill Able), and does not stand in the truth, because there is NO TRUTH in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and THE FATHER OF ALL LIARS.” (John 8:44)
THIS IS WHAT WE’RE UP AGAINST WHEN WE PRAY, REMEMBER, GREATER IS HE WHO IS IN US!!!
