“…know this, that in the last days perilous (chalepos: troublesome, harsh, fierce) times will come: People will LOVE THEMSELVES…LOVE MONEY, brag and be proud, tear others down, not obey parents, won’t be thankful or holy, won’t love others, won’t forgive others, tell lies, be out of control, be wild (anēmeros: savage, violent), hate what is good, love what PLEASES THEMSELVES INSTEAD OF LOVING GOD, having a form of godliness but denying its power, from such people TURN AWAY” (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
There have been more than 600 mass shootings of innocent people across the US in 2022. “For these are the days of vengeance (ekdikēsis: punishment, in the minds of these killers they are doing a service for humanity).” (Luke 21:22) God says, “Keep far away from falsely charging anyone with evil; never let AN INNOCENT PERSON be put to death. I will not stand for this.” (Exodus 23:7)
Each day, 25,000 people, including more than 10,000 children, DIE from HUNGER and related causes. Some 854 million people worldwide are estimated to be undernourished, and high food prices may drive another 100 million into poverty and hunger. We often hear that the state has LITTLE TO NO responsibility in providing for the needs of its people in need – ESPECIALLY THE POOR. The most basic responsibilities of the state, some have said, rest solely in enforcing contracts, protecting property rights, and providing security for its people. “Anyone who is KIND TO POOR PEOPLE lends (lâvâh: to join oneself to) to the LORD. God will reward him for what he has done.” (Proverbs 19:17) “Those who give to poor people will have everything they need. But those who close their eyes to the poor will be under many curses.” (Proverbs 28:27)
