“As you therefore have RECEIVED (paralambanō: to take into yourself) Christ Jesus the Lord, SO WALK IN HIM, rooted, and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.” (Colossians 2:6-7) What does it mean we have, “RECEIVED CHRIST.” “God has chosen to MAKE KNOWN the glorious riches of that MYSTERY…here is what it is. CHRIST IS IN YOU. He is your hope of glory (doxa: the unspoken manifestation of God).” (Colossians 1:27) THE GLORY OF GOD IS IN US!!! We are to walk in that glory, “ABOUNDING (overflowing) IN THANKSGIVING” so others WILL SEE IT!
“Beware lest anyone TAKES YOU CAPTIVE (sulagōgeō: to lead you away from the truth) through PHILOSOPHY (philosophia: secular philosophy – elevating human wisdom over the wisdom of God) and EMPTY DECEIT (apatē: delusion, misbelief), according to the TRADITION of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.” (Colossians 2:6-8) Since God’s glory is IN US and we are trying to walk in that glory, the devil will try to “STEAL, and to KILL, and to DESTROY.” (John 10:10a) that MYSTERY we have been given by Jesus Christ! Jesus promised us that He has “…come that we may have LIFE, (zōē: The Lord intimately shares His gift of life with us), and that we may have it MORE ABUNDANTLY (perissos: beyond what is anticipated).” (John 10:10b)
