Because of the constant DISOBEDIENCE and REBELLION of the Jewish people The LORD says, “Come here, you children of women who practice evil magic! You are children of prostitutes and those who commit adultery. Who are you making fun of? Who are you laughing at? Who are you sticking your tongue out at? You are people who REFUSE TO OBEY ME. You are just a bunch of liars! You burn with sinful longing among the oak trees. YOU WORSHIP YOUR gods BY HAVING SEX UNDER EVERY GREEN TREE. You SACRIFICE YOUR CHILDREN in the valleys.” (Isaiah 57:3-5)
“And the LORD WILL SCATTER YOU AMONG the peoples, and you will be left few in number among the nations where the LORD will drive you. And there you will serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see nor hear nor eat nor smell. But from there YOU WILL SEEK THE LORD your God, and YOU WILL FIND HIM if you seek Him with all your HEART and with all your SOUL.” (Deuteronomy 4:27-29)
It is purely A MIRACLE that the ancient Israelites of biblical times still carry a remnant of people and faith that has lasted throughout the centuries. All other ancient peoples like the Assyrians, Babylonians, Jebusites and the Canaanites are extinct, but the Jewish people HAVE SURVIVED throughout the generations. Why have they survived? God said this about Israel, “The mountains might shake. The hills might be removed. But MY FAITHFUL LOVE FOR YOU WILL NEVER BE SHAKEN. And my covenant that promises peace to you will NEVER BE BROKEN,” says the LORD.” (Isaiah 54:10)
Just why will God’s promises NEVER BE BROKEN? “God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability (ametathetos: unchangeableness) of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath, that by two immutable things, in which IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR GOD to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of THE HOPE SET BEFORE US.” (Hebrews 6:17-18) HE WOULD BLESS ISRAEL AS A NATION AND HE WOULD MULTIPLY THEM. On May 14th, 1948, Israel became a nation for the second time.
Where is Jesus going when He comes back to earth? To Israel, “…in that day His feet will stand on the MOUNT OF OLIVES, WHICH FACES JERUSALEM on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, making a very large valley…” (Zechariah 14:4) “At that time JERUSALEM SHALL BE CALLED THE THRONE OF THE LORD, and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of the LORD, TO JERUSALEM.” (Jeremiah 3:17)
