“Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, To the CHURCH OF GOD which is at Corinth, with ALL THE SAINTS…we must all appear before the JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST, that EACH ONE MAY RECEIVE THE THINGS DONE IN THE BODY, according to what he has done, WHETHER GOOD OR BAD.” (2 Corinthians 1:1, 5:10) All Christians will appear before the judgement seat of Christ. This is not to find out if we’re going to heaven or not but what kind of reward we’ll receive.
“Now if anyone builds on this foundation with GOLD, SILVER, PRECIOUS STONES, WOOD, HAY, STRAW, each one’s work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because IT WILL BE REVEALED BY FIRE; and the fire will TEST EACH ONE’S WORK, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it ENDURES, HE WILL RECEIVE A REWARD. If anyone’s work IS BURNED, HE WILL SUFFER LOSS; but HE HIMSELF WILL BE SAVED, yet so as through fire.” (1 Corinthians 3:12-15) “For by GRACE you have been saved THROUGH FAITH, and that not of yourselves; it is THE GIFT OF GOD, NOT OF WORKS, lest anyone should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9) We are SAVED by GRACE but REWARDED for our WORKS.
At the judgment seat of Christ believers will RECEIVE THEIR REWARDS of “GOLD, SILVER, PRECIOUS STONES” which will be “crowns”. There is the crown of rejoicing, the incorruptible crown, the crown of glory, crown of life, and Paul speaks of the crown of righteousness. What is the “WOOD, HAY and STRAW?” That’s if we get saved and just sit back and wait for the end, DOING NOTHING!!! DO WHAT GOD HAS CALLED YOU TO DO…
