We must be careful how we use our freedom in Christ, to be sure it doesn’t trip up someone who is a weaker person. “Suppose you who have that knowledge, are eating at an idol’s temple. And suppose someone who has a WEAK SENSE of what is right and wrong SEES YOU. SHALL THE WEAK BROTHER PERISH, FOR WHOM CHRIST DIED? If so, then your knowledge DESTROYS THAT WEAK BROTHER. When you SIN AGAINST other believers in that way, you harm their weak sense of what is right and wrong. By doing that YOU SIN AGAINST CHRIST.” (1 Corinthians 8:9-12)
“Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who TURNS A SINNER from the ERROR OF HIS WAY WILL SAVE A SOUL FROM DEATH and cover a multitude of sins.” (James 5:19-20) We must be sure to, “Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking BE PUT AWAY FROM YOU, with all malice. And BE KIND to one another, tenderhearted, FORGIVING ONE ANOTHER, even as God in Christ FORGAVE YOU.” (Ephesians 4:31-32)
Remember how Jesus taught us to pray,
“FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS, AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS.” (Matthew 6:12)
