“Oh, love the LORD, all you, His saints! For the LORD preserves (nâtsar: to keep close, to watch over) the faithful, And fully repays the proud person. Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the LORD.” (Psalms 31:23-24) Let’s look at this phrase, “the LORD…FULLY REPAYS the proud person…” we know that God hates pride, “These things the LORD hates…A PROUD LOOK…” (Proverbs 6:16-17)
The Bible goes on to say, “God OPPOSES (antitassomai: to range in battle against) those who are proud. But He gives grace to those who are humble.” (James 4:6) Why is God so opposed to pride? God created a perfect angelic worship leader, Lucifer. God said this about him, “You were the seal of perfection, Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty…Your heart was FILLED WITH PRIDE because of all your beauty; Therefore, I have CAST YOU DOWN to the ground and exposed you as helpless…” (Ezekiel 28:12, 17) “How you are FALLEN from heaven, O Lucifer…You who weakened the nations! For you have SAID IN YOUR HEART…I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will BE LIKE THE MOST HIGH (I will be like God)‘” (Isaiah 14:12-14)
SATAN TEMPTS US TO BECOME PRIDEFUL ABOUT WHAT WE DO, WE MUST REMEMBER, WE DO NOT WANT TO DO BATTLE AGAINST THE LORD…
