“May my prayer be set before you LIKE INCENSE (qᵉṭôreth: sweet smoke of sacrifice); may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.” (Psa. 141:2)
Do you know what the golden bowls of incense are, mentioned in Revelation 5:8? They are “the prayers of the saints (those washed by the blood of Jesus).” It means that our PRAYERS RISE as the aroma of heaven, sweet smelling before the throne of God and before the Lamb. This should encourage us to PRAY ALL THE MORE OFTEN and all the more fervently. Let’s all BLESS, HONOR AND ADORE CHRIST while we are here below with our prayers, and then rejoice that it is a sweet-smelling incense before Jesus, the Lamb who was slain.
Pray this prayer, “Let my prayer rise up like incense before you, the lifting up of my hands as an offering to you. O God, I call to you, come to me now; O hear my voice when I cry to you. Keep watch within me, God; deep in my heart, may the light of your love be burning bright.” David prayed this way, “Give ear to my words, O LORD, Consider my meditation. Give heed to the voice of my cry, My King and my God, For to You I WILL PRAY. My voice You shall hear in the morning, O LORD; In the morning I will DIRECT IT TO YOU, AND I WILL LOOK UP.” (Psa. 5:1-3)
This is the prayer of Jesus to the Father, “I have revealed you to the ones you gave me from this world. They were always yours. You GAVE THEM TO ME, and they have kept your word. Now they know that everything I have is a gift from you, for I have passed on to them THE MESSAGE YOU GAVE ME. They accepted it and know that I came from you, and THEY BELIEVE YOU SENT ME. “My prayer is not for the world, but for those you have given me, because THEY BELONG TO YOU. I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, PROTECT THEM BY THE POWER OF YOUR NAME, the name you gave me, so that they may BE ONE AS WE ARE ONE.” (John 17:6-9, 11)
