SAYING GOODBYE…

Jesus said to His disciples who have been with Him now for 3 ½ years or 1277.5 days. Plenty of time to really know who Jesus was. They ate meals together, spent the night together, went about during the day blessing, healing and miraculously providing for people, “…now I am going to Him who sent me. None of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’(John 16:5) Jesus then said, But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Comforter (Holy Spirit) will not come to you; but if I go, I WILL SEND HIM TO YOU.(John 16:7)

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, HE WILL GUIDE YOU INTO ALL THE TRUTH. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come. He will glorify Me because it is from Me that He will receive what He will make known to you. (John 16:13-14) Jesus explained to them, “I have told you these things, so that in me YOU MAY HAVE PEACE. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD.” (John 16:33)

Look what happened, “When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them WERE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.” (Acts 2:1-4)

“When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit…Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about THREE THOUSAND WERE ADDED TO THEIR NUMBER that day.” (Acts 2:37-38, 41)
