Jesus, “…saw a man blind from birth. And His disciples asked Him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?” Jesus answered, “It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so that THE WORKS OF GOD MIGHT BE DISPLAYED IN HIM. (John 9:1-4)
This man lived in darkness all his life, being blind, but then Jesus came, bringing SIGHT AND LIGHT to this man’s life. In that same way, the world was in darkness to that point, but JESUS HAD COME, and “In Him was life, and the life was the LIGHT OF MEN…That was the true Light which GIVES LIGHT TO EVERY MAN coming into the world.” (John 1:4, 9) Consider this, “The earth was without form, and void; and DARKNESS was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be LIGHT (‘ôr: to be illuminated); and there was light…the evening and the morning were the FIRST day. ” (Gen. 1:2-3)
This light appeared on the first day, what was its source? The sun, no that was not created until day four. “Then God made two great lights: the GREATER LIGHT (the sun) to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. And God saw that it was good. So the evening and the morning were the FOURTH DAY.” (Gen. 1:16-19) As a reminder, “Jesus is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For BY HIM (Jesus) ALL THINGS WERE CREATED that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things WERE CREATED BY HIM AND FOR HIM. And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.” (Col. 1:15-17) What form was Jesus in when the creation took place? “In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with God, and the WORD WAS GOD. All things were made by Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made…the WORD BECAME FLESH and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, FULL OF GRACE AND TRUTH.” (John 1:1-3, 14)
This is what is so amazing for us, “God so loved the world that HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that THE WORLD THROUGH HIM MIGHT BE SAVED.” (John 3:16-17)
