“…be strong and very courageous, that you may observe TO DO according to all the…” (Josh. 1:7) words written in the WORD OF GOD. “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles THE WORD OF TRUTH.” (2 Tim. 2:15) “Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you TEACH AND ADMONISH ONE ANOTHER with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with GRATITUDE in your hearts.” (Col. 3:16)
This is what happens when we go out and share the Word of God, “…so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It WILL NOT return to me empty, BUT WILL ACCOMPLISH what I desire and ACHIEVE the purpose for which I sent it. You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will BURST INTO SONG BEFORE YOU, and all the trees of the field will CLAP THEIR HANDS.” (Isaiah 55:11-12) Just why will all of these marvelous things happen? Because, “…the word of God is ALIVE (zaō: to have true life) and POWERFUL (energēs: full-of-energy) It is sharper than the sharpest TWO-EDGED SWORD, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It EXPOSES OUR INNERMOST thoughts and desires.” (Heb. 4:12)
In our limited human minds we do not understand what the LIVING WORD OF GOD really is, it IS NOT JUST PRINTED WORDS, “Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True…His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called THE WORD OF GOD…out of His mouth goes A SHARP SWORD, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.” (Rev. 19:11-13, 15) Why is Jesus called the Word of God? “In the beginning was the WORD, and the WORD was with God, and the WORD was God…the WORD became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the ONLY BEGOTTEN OF THE FATHER (Jesus Christ), full of grace and truth.” (John 1:1, 14) One more very astounding thing about the Word, “All Scripture is God–breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
ALMIGHTY GOD, BREATHES HIS WORD INTO US AS WE READ IT THAT’S WHAT GIVES IT IT’S POWER…
