David was hiding from Saul, who was trying to kill him: “Why do you boast all day long, you who are a disgrace in the eyes of God? You who practice deceit, your tongue plots destruction; it is like a sharpened razor. YOU LOVE EVIL rather than good, falsehood rather than speaking the truth. You love EVERY HARMFUL WORD, you deceitful tongue! (Many of us have had evil words spoken against us) Surely God will bring you down to everlasting ruin: He will snatch you up and pluck you from your tent; He will uproot you from the land of the living.” (Psa. 52:1-5)
This is exactly what the devil wants to do to DISRUPT OUR LIVES, he will speak evil harmful words about us. So, what do we do? We pray this to God, “I am praying to you because I KNOW YOU WILL ANSWER, O God. Bend down and listen as I pray. SHOW ME your unfailing love in wonderful ways. By your mighty power you rescue those who seek refuge from their enemies. GUARD ME as you would guard your own eyes. HIDE ME in the shadow of your wings. PROTECT ME from wicked people who attack me, from murderous enemies who surround me…Arise, O LORD! Stand against them, and bring them to their knees! RESCUE ME from the wicked with your sword!” (Psa. 17:6-9, 13)
How will He rescue us? “Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead WILL BE RAISED imperishable, and we WILL BE CHANGED…Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, STAND FIRM. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because YOU KNOW THAT YOUR LABOR IN THE LORD IS NOT IN VAIN.” (1 Corin. 15:51-52, 58)
