To be a Christian, is to declare, with our lives, that JESUS IS LORD.
His Lordship affects both:
- OUR MINDS: Teaching us what to believe, Most importantly that we, “‘Love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and mind.’ This is the first and GREATEST COMMANDMENT. And the second is like it: ‘Love our neighbor as ourselves.’” (Matt. 22:37-39)
- OUR MORALS: Changing the way we live. Regular talks (prayers) with God are essential, our prayers should be GENUINE COMMUNICATION WITH GOD, not something we rattle off without even thinking about what we’re saying. Sincere prayer is VITAL for a Christian life because it sustains us, grows us, and helps us constantly CONNECT WITH GOD. Jesus said, “WHEN (not if) you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is in the secret. Then your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you…In this manner, pray: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done In (in us His earthen vessels) earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.” (Matt. 6:9-13)
