It is not that their trust was very weak when it should have stronger. No, rather, they had “LITTLE ” UNDERSTANDING OF GOD’S WORD. They had grasped such a small amount of, or had limited insight into, what Our Almighty God was saying to them and doing with them. Instead of holding fast His Word, they began to look at circumstances (distresses and distractions) through human eyes.
Jesus said, “You search the Scriptures…in them you think you have eternal life…” (John 5:39) According to a 2019 George Barna study, only about 5% of the population search for a deeper understanding of God’s word. That is such a shame because, “…the word of God is LIVING and POWERFUL… and It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.” (Heb. 4:12)
Here is the truth of the Word of God, it is the most important and most powerful book in existence!!! Why? Because, “All Scripture is GOD–BREATHED (theopneustos: from theos, “God” pneuma: to breathe) and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be THOROUGHLY EQUIPPED for every good work.” (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
God’s Word has the miraculous properties of BEING:
- ALIVE: each and every word is living…
- POWERFUL: each and every word is filled with power…
- BREATHED OUT BY GOD: each and every word is God-breathed…
LETS BE ONE WHO SEARCHES THE SCRIPTURES TO KNOW ALL ABOUT GOD…
