WE ARE JUST FLESH…

God commands in Psalm 50:5, 22 “Gather My saints together to Me, those who have MADE A COVENANT WITH ME BY SACRIFICE…Now consider this, you who forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.” What is especially interesting is that Psalm 50 is directly addressed to those who have made a covenant with God, yet some, perhaps many, suffer from forgetfulness regarding God’s importance to their well-being. We must ask ourselves, could we be guilty of such a thing? “For God remembered that they were but flesh, a breath that passes away and does not come again. How often they provoked Him in the wilderness, and grieved Him in the desert! YES, AGAIN AND AGAIN THEY TEMPTED GOD, and limited the Holy One of Israel. THEY DID NOT REMEMBER HIS POWER; the day when He redeemed them from the enemy.” (Psalm 78:39-42)

This serves as a warning. Notice the contrast between God, who remembers and keeps His part of the covenant, and men, who so easily forget God.  But God reminds us, “I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently (shâchar: busily; with persistent, persevering effort), WILL FIND ME.” (Pro. 8:17)  So, here is what we must do: “With my whole heart I have sought You; oh, LET ME NOT WANDER FROM YOUR COMMANDMENTS! (Psa. 119:10)

SO, COME ON, WE MUST DILIGENTLY SEEK GOD
